Organised in Budapest on 16-18 December 2009, this Workshop was aimed at addressing the crucial issue of improving the quality of operations in tax administrations.
27 tax officials involved in the quality management process from 18 tax administrations had the opportunity to share good practice in the area of building quality into tax administration procedures and structures.
Over the two and half days, the management, measurement and improvement in quality in the public sector were addressed. The event aimed to demonstrate the value of various quality management tools currently in use within some IOTA tax administrations.
The workshop included presentations from six tax administrations (Denmark, France, Norway, Poland, Spain & the Netherlands) and other collaborative activities that helped our Members develop plans on how to adopt good practice, with the aim of increasing the quality of services provided by tax administrations.
Participants had the opportunity to participate to two group work sessions on:
- Tax administrations’ strategic visions for the future and the implementation of a quality management system;
- International Quality Standards being used to achieve performance improvements,
which allowed them to share experiences during the event.
